Tem Adlawan was born on Dec ,21 ,1930 in Naga Cebu. He is one of the major fictionists of cebu. He has written poetry, short stories, and novels, or subjects ranging from rural to urban his style varies from the collequial irreverent manner of his highly humorous stories to the fluent imagery and poetic evocation is thought- provoking narratives. late, Nov 17, 2009, he was an award winning author of cebu.He died at the age of 79 by drinking hemlock.

Plot
A. Exposition Miguel let his last passenger get off his tricycle and proceed to go back the way he came from then, an empty tricycle drives behind him miguel with the same intention, go the same way and pick up any passengers on the way back to town.
B. Conflict ( man vs man) It turns out sherwin .Inting sera's son was following him Miguel thought he was racing him for fares, but Sherwin wants a contest , machine vs machine.
C. Climax Miguel decided ti give up on picking passengers and drives up from 3rd gear to 4th when his marking speed closes to 60 Km on 5th gear he still not able catch up to sherwin but the distance is getting closer fear and shame consumed Miguel.
D.Resolution Miguel succumbed to his pride drives up to 70kph which bring him neck to neck to sherwin on the road of Na-alad he overtaken a slow moving jeep leading to his side car getting hit which made his tricycle flung to the side of the road 
E.Ending  Bleeding from the scratches and lacerations the people said to miguel " pride got the better of you , you were lucky to land in this soft plawed soil. " miguel told himself" never again" and did not look at sherwin
